Candle Care

Great question!

Brightlands scented candles are small batch hand poured candles. Although every effort is made to ensure consistency, and each candle has been individually handcrafted and there may be some variances. Our wax is 100% natural soy wax and therefore you may notice small blemishes on the side or surface of your candle. This is not a fault, simply a small blemish and does not impact on the quality or burn of the candle.

When burning your soy wax candle, allow the melt pool to burn completely to the edges each and every burn. This will help create a burn memory and prevent tunnelling.

Allowing your candle to have a melt pool of 1/4inch will maximise fragrance and an even burn pool. Trim your wick to at least 4mm to help prevent smoking and keep the burn pool clean. Before relighting your candle, ensure it has cooled and hardened completely before you trim your wick.

Burn your candle for no more than 2-3 hours as you can over burn a candle. Make sure your wick is 6mm before re-lighting your candle.

Please discard your candle when there is 10mm of wax or less remaining. We do not advise to continue burning your candle below this.

Keep out of direct sunlight, this prevents damage and discolouration to wax. If you are left with a black sooty substance at the rim of your votive, wipe it away with a damp cloth and ensure you keep your wick trimmed.

Snip your wick! Wicks are happiest when at a very short height. After your first burn, use a pair of scissors to trim the wick to the right length, ensuring a steady, ash-free flame.

Brightlands currently ships Australia wide.

All orders are generally processed within 3-7 business days. Once shipped, please allow up to 7 business days for your order to arrive.

You will receive tracking details via email once your order has been shipped. 

Please ensure you have correctly entered your shipping address details (house number, street name, suburb and postcode) as we cannot be responsible for orders that do not arrive due to error in address. You may incur additional shipping charges if this occurs unless it is the error of Brightlands Candles. Once your order has been shipped, we cannot accept responsibility for any lost parcel.

We offer exchanges for our beautiful scents . Orders generally arrive in 3-7 business days. If you need an order expressed, we have an express shipping option at checkout! Please note we only ship within Australia at the moment!

Returns and exchanges

The uttermost care is taken when wrapping orders for posting.

Should your purchase arrive damaged, please contact including a description of the damage and photographic evidence, within 14 days of arrival.

The products and packaging must be returned in an unused condition. Any product and packaging that is returned in a used condition will not be deemed faulty/damaged and you may incur additional shipping charges to return the product or if appropriate, a refund with be given within 48 hours. If the product is returned in an unused condition we will happily replace the product.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept refunds for change of mind. If the scent you have chosen is not to your liking, we will happily exchange your purchase with another of our beautiful scents. Exchanges will only be accepted on full price items within 14 days of purchase. Exchange is not available on candles purchased on sale. In order to successfully exchange your order, the following procedure must be followed:

1.Email with your purchase number, and new scent you would like to receive.

2. The original order must be returned in unused condition at the customer’s own shipping expense. If there is damage to the packaging and or product, we will not be able to accept the exchange.

3. Brightlands Candles will send out the exchange product with free shipping.
